The Little Kids Rock Method: Modern Band Modern Band is a genre-based, instrumental and vocal music program that connects learning to the music that kids already know and love--styles including rock, pop, hip-hop, and reggae--performed on guitar, keyboard, bass guitar, and drums. Each year, Little Kids Rock fulfills its mission to keep music education in its rightful place in our children's academic lives by preparing school teachers to begin Modern Band programs in public schools in underserved communities across the country.
